Kifaayat Platform Update

Over the past year, Kifaayat has grown a lot. More buyers are browsing, and we have improved how payments and checkout work so sellers can get paid smoothly and buyers can shop with confidence.

Your listing was created before these updates, and payments are not set up on your account yet. This means buyers today cannot complete a purchase from your listing, even if they are interested.

We are reaching out so you do not miss out. A quick update can help your item start reaching the right buyers.

1. Why did I receive this email?

We are reaching out because your listing is over a year old and payments are not set up.

We noticed that in this situation, sellers often miss genuine buyers simply because the listing is not fully ready for checkout. This check is to help you avoid that.

2. What is stopping my item from selling right now?

Two simple things:
• The listing is old, so it may not be shown as much
• Payments are not set up, so buyers cannot complete a purchase

Even if someone likes your item, they may not be able to move forward.

3. Why is Kifaayat closing these listings?

We want buyers to have a smooth experience when they find something they like.

If a buyer clicks on a listing but cannot purchase, it creates drop-off. Over time, this affects trust across the platform and reduces chances of sales for everyone. We want to make sure that when buyers find your item, they can easily complete the purchase so you don’t miss out on a sale.

4. How does this help me as a seller?

This is directly for your benefit:
• Your item will be shown in a more active environment
• Buyers will trust listings and sellers more
• You are more likely to get serious enquiries

5. My item is still available. What should I do?

You are good to go. Just:
Step 1: Set up payments
Step 2: Create a fresh listing (don’t reopen your old listing, it won’t appear at the top)

This puts your item back in front of buyers in the right way.

6. Do I really need to create a new listing?

Yes, a new listing gives your item a fresh start and usually improves visibility. Buyers tend to engage more with listings that look recent and complete. This small step can make a big difference.

7. Can I reuse my old photos and details?

Yes, you can. You can try to make some small improvements to increase your chances of a successful sale like: 

  • Adding 1 or 2 clearer photos (minimum 3 photos per listing is mandatory) and one video 

  • Reducing price slightly

  • Adding measurements (like bust, length, waist)

8. I did not get enquiries earlier. Will this help?

It can. We often see that older listings get buried over time. When you relist, your item gets a new chance to be seen by buyers who are actively browsing now.

9. What is Stripe and why does it matter?

Stripe is how you receive your payment securely. Without it, even interested buyers cannot complete the purchase. Setting it up ensures you can actually receive money when someone wants to buy.

Stripe itself is a technology company that allows you to accept payments securely over the internet and allows buyers to transact safely over the internet. It is used by some of the largest marketplaces in the world including Amazon and Depop. 

When a purchase is made, Stripe ensures that: 

  • The buyer can purchase the item from our marketplace with their debit card or credit card.

  • We (Kifaayat) receive a 15% commission once an item is sold.

  • You (the seller) receive the payment directly into your select bank account once the buyer receives their item.

10. Is setting up Stripe complicated?

Not at all. Most sellers complete it in a few minutes. If you get stuck, we are here to help you through it.

11. Is this safe?

Yes. Stripe is used globally by businesses and marketplaces. Stripe uses best-in-class security practices to maintain a high level of security.

12. What happens if I do nothing?

Your listing would be removed from buyer view until payments are set up, but your details will remain saved and you can complete the setup anytime.

13. How can I improve my chances of selling this time?

From what we have seen across the community, these help the most:
• Clear, well-lit photos
• Be honest about the condition of the item
• Including size and measurements
• Pricing close to similar listings
• Quick replies to buyers
