Step 1: Create an Account and set up Bank Details via Stripe
- Creating an account will allow you to upload new items for rent. Once you've done this, please go into 'Settings' and connect the platform to our secure payment systems - with your Bank Details (via Stripe). This will allow you to accept payments from renters.
Step 2: Upload your rental item(s)
- Once you have done this, you will be ready to upload your items.
- Take some gorgeous pictures of your rental item. If it's an outfit and you have photos of you wearing the outfit, even better! You can blur or crop your face out if you want. Make sure you get a front, back, side and detail shot - including any photos of any damage/stains if applicable.
- You must upload at least 2 different photos per product listing.
- Create a new item and upload the pictures of your items, in your pricing include shipping costs (including any return shipping plabel costs)
- Include measurement information and complete listing fields and submit for approval. You can do this for as many rental items as you want, for free!
*Note: If you are unsure on what shipping cost you should add for the item, we recommend you use Australia Post: https://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/calculate-postage-delivery-times/.
Step 3: Select Availability and add a Security Deposit
- You will be prompted to include the availability of the item once you've posted the listing. You can edit this at anytime.
- If you want to add a security deposit for your listing, create a seperate listing so renters can pay you the security deposit upon purchase. To do this, create a new listing, select category "Security Deposit" and add it with the same title and say "Security Deposit" (e.g. Green Saree - Security Deposit) and add the listing in "Selling". Include the conditions of your Security Deposit in the Description.
- A member of Kifaayat team will review each product to make sure it is appropriate for the website and approve within 1 business day. The product description may be tweaked in this process to ensure it is optimised for SEO to attract more renters. The photos and content uploaded may also be used for social media marketing purposes to attract more renters.
Step 4: Rental request and Proof of Condition
Once someone is ready to rent your item, you can accept or decline the request. Once you've accepted and no more than 24 hrs before you post the item, we recommend you take time-stamped photos of the condition of the item. This is good to have in case anything happens during the rental and a dispute arises. Without Proof of condition, Kifaayat will not be able to assist in a dispute regarding damage.
You can then send the item to the renter (via Australia post) or arrange for collection.
Step 5: Payment & Delivery
- The renter will be able to securely rent out your item and pay Stripe. Once payment is approved, it is the lender's responsibility to ship out the item. You must provide a tracking number, therefore, we recommend using Australia Post for Australia-wide shipping for consistent pricing and tracking.
- If you are using Stripe, Kifaayat will only release payment to the lender at the end of the rental process and renter confirms it's been returned with proof of a tracking ID. Once they have confirmed, the payment (less Kifaayat's commission**) will be automatically deposited into the lender's registered Bank Account
**Note: Kifaayat will take a 15% commission for each item rented out on the Kifaayat website, this will be deducted from the cost of the item once the transaction is complete.
Step 6: Rental item returned
- When your rental is complete, the renter will send it back and they will pay for the delivery (or you can arrange a time and location for pick-up). Anytime an item is posted, a tracking ID must be provided and is to be sent via Kifaayat's secure messaging platform. Once the renter has returned the item and you have received it, they will mark the transaction as complete and you will receive your final payment. You can then leave each other feedback.
- You must also take a proof of condition by taking pictures on the day of delivery. If you need to raise any issues or concerns about the item, contact [email protected] to assist with the dispute resolution.
- If you choose to have a security deposit, upon the completion of the transaction and the return of the rental item back to the lender, the Kifaayat team will help you process the refund back to the renter via the secure payment platform.
Once the item is returned, you're responsible for cleaning your item before its next rental.
PLEASE NOTE: Any transaction conducted outside of the Kifaayat platform (e.g. via bank details, PayID, direct text messages etc.) will not be supported for any disputes.
